WB Electrical has supported Procladd since 2018, carrying out a range of electrical works at their Hamilton premises, from lighting repairs and socket installations through to EICR inspections, PAT testing, fault finding, and reactive maintenance.
In 2025, the relationship developed further with the installation of Easee smart EV charger units, helping Procladd add workplace charging capacity for staff and business use while making use of the available OZEV Workplace Charging Scheme grant at the time.
The Workplace Charging Scheme was designed to support eligible organisations with the cost of installing EV chargepoints at places of work. At the time of this installation, the grant offered up to 75% of the cost, capped at £350 per socket. The current scheme has since changed, so any future grant advice should always be checked against the live OZEV position.

The Challenge
As more staff and businesses move towards electric vehicles, workplace charging is becoming a practical requirement rather than a future consideration.
For Procladd, the goal was to install a commercial EV charging setup that would provide multiple charging points on site, make use of available grant support, and integrate safely into the existing electrical infrastructure.
The installation also had to suit a working business environment, with charging equipment that was practical, manageable, and suitable for multiple users.
Adding EV charging to an active business premises
The challenge was not just fitting chargers to a wall. The project needed proper assessment of the existing supply, suitable electrical design, safe installation, grant-aligned documentation, testing, certification, and a clean handover so the system could be used confidently after installation.
Our Approach
We work in a way that suits a high-demand, high-compliance environment.
Build on the existing relationship
Because WB Electrical had already supported Procladd with general electrical works since 2018, we had a practical understanding of the site, the client’s expectations, and the importance of reliable day-to-day support.
Select suitable commercial charging equipment
Easee Charge is designed for commercial charging needs and supports charging up to 22kW on a three-phase circuit. Easee also highlights features such as load and phase balancing, Wi-Fi, e-SIM connectivity, RFID/NFC access control, and app-based control and monitoring.
Support the grant process
The installation was planned around the available OZEV Workplace Charging Scheme grant at the time, helping Procladd make use of support towards the cost of eligible workplace chargepoint sockets.
Install, test, and hand over properly
As with any commercial EV project, the work needed to be installed safely, tested correctly, certified, and left ready for practical use.
The Work In Action
Over the years, our support has typically landed in three practical chapters.
Commercial EV charger installation
WB Electrical supplied and installed 10 Easee 22kW smart EV charger units at Procladd’s Hamilton premises.
The works included the associated electrical installation, setup, testing, and handover required to bring the charging points into use. Easee Keys were also included, supporting controlled access for authorised users.
Ongoing electrical support
Alongside the EV installation, WB Electrical has continued to support Procladd with a range of general electrical works, including lighting repairs, light switch replacements, socket installations, additional spurs, reactive maintenance, EICR inspections, and PAT testing.
Practical support for a working business
The project reflects the type of long-term support Procladd needs, a contractor who can handle day-to-day electrical issues, compliance tasks, and larger upgrades as the business develops.
Outcomes
The installation gave Procladd a practical workplace EV charging setup with 10 smart commercial chargers available on site.
By using Easee Charge units, the system provided a scalable commercial charging solution suited to workplaces, car parks, and business premises. The installation also allowed Procladd to make use of the available OZEV grant support at the time, reducing the barrier to installing multiple workplace charging sockets.
For the client, the outcome was a cleaner, more future-ready site with EV charging capacity in place, backed by an electrical contractor already familiar with their building, systems, and ongoing maintenance needs.
