Workplace Charging Solutions
Commercial EV charging, designed and installed by professional electricians

Workplace charging strategy and bay planning
Workplace EV charging works best when it’s planned around how people actually park and how EV uptake will grow. We help you decide how many live chargepoints you need now, how many bays to enable for later, and what the sensible rollout looks like over 12-36 months, so you avoid overbuilding on day one, but can expand without disruption.

Site capacity, distribution, and future proofing
Before anything is installed, we check what the site can safely support. That includes maximum demand, spare capacity, and how your distribution is arranged. We then design the electrical infrastructure so expansion is straightforward, space in boards, sensible sub-boards, tidy routing, and the right protection, rather than a bolt-on job that becomes expensive to scale.

Smart charging and load management
Uncontrolled charging demand is the quickest route to nuisance trips and forced upgrades. We design load management so chargepoints share available power, stay within safe limits, and prioritise charging where needed. This is ideal for offices, business parks, and multi-tenant sites where demand varies and you want predictable performance.

User access, reporting, and cost control
Workplace charging often needs simple control, staff only access, visitor bays, usage reporting, and clear rules. We can help you select a system that supports RFID or user accounts, produces clean usage data, and keeps the setup easy for facilities teams to manage, without turning charging into an admin burden.

Installation quality, safety, and site presentation
Workplace charging is customer-facing even when it’s staff only, it should look professional. We install with tidy containment, safe isolation, clear labelling, and durable mounting, planned around your car park layout and pedestrian routes. The goal is a clean finish that is safe, maintainable, and fits the site.

Commissioning, handover, and ongoing support
A good install is one you can run and maintain confidently. We commission the system properly, confirm operation and load management behaviour, and provide clear handover notes for your site file. If you want ongoing support, we can provide planned checks and practical fault support, especially useful as more bays are added over time.
Chargepoints installed properly, ready to scale
Workplace EV charging that fits how your site actually runs
A lot of EV installers focus on hardware and apps. On commercial sites, the real success factor is whether the installation is designed properly, safe under real usage, and easy to expand as more staff go electric.
WB Electrical approaches workplace charging like any other critical electrical system:
- Capacity first, can the site support today’s demand and tomorrow’s growth?
- Routing and protection, install neatly and safely, with long-term maintainability
- Scalability, enable extra bays now, add chargepoints later with minimal disruption
- Control, smart charging and load management to avoid demand spikes
- Clear handover, documentation that works for facilities teams and dutyholders
If your project is more depot-led and shift-critical, use the Fleet and Logistics page for a better match. For demand control, see Smart Charging and Load Management.

Grants and funding support for workplace charging
Grants can reduce upfront cost for eligible organisations, but the rules and dates change, so we treat funding as a bonus, not the foundation of the design. Common schemes include:
- Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS), currently extended until 31 March 2027, with changes to grant rates for installations completed from 1 April 2026.
- EV infrastructure grant for staff and fleets, which is closing, with the last date for applications 31 March 2026.
Grant rules require use of an OZEV-authorised installer and eligible chargepoints. We’ll help you understand which route is realistic for your site and provide a grant-aware scope and quote
